Directions to Cache Canyon River Trips

From Bay Area: Take Interstate 80 east to the city of Vacaville – take Interstate 505 north. You will be on I505 north for approx. 23 miles. Take Highway 16 west, (left from off ramp stop light). The towns you will pass through are as follows: Madison, Esparto, Capay, Brooks, (Cache Creek Casino) Guinda and Rumsey.

Approximately 5 miles past the town of Rumsey, Yolo County has a park, Cache Creek Canyon Regional Park (CCCRP) there are 3 entrances. The first entrance on the left is the CCCRP – Lower Site. This is the meeting place and campground for our 2 day trip rafting guests. You will also see our sign that says. More River – More Fun – Cache Canyon 2 day trip meets here. The second entrance on the left is the CCCRP- Middle Site, this is the public campground. The third entrance on the left is the CCCRP – Upper Site, this is the meeting place for our 1 day trip. You will also see our sign that says, “Raft with the Best” – Cache Canyon 1-day Trip meets here.

From Sacramento Area: Take Interstate 5 north to the Woodland exit. Turn left (west) onto Main Street. Stay on Main Street all the way through Woodland. Once you reach Road 98 (Stop light – Brown’s Corner Pub on right) continue through light, Main St. turns into Hwy 16. Stay on Hwy 16 all the way to Rumsey. See above paragraph for directions to meeting places.

From Clearlake Area: Take Hwy 20 east to Hwy 16 (CDF Fire Station on right) – turn right – take Hwy 16 all the way towards Rumsey. When you enter Yolo County the first parking lot on the right will be the Upper Site of the CCCRP (1 day trip starting point). The second entrance on the right will be the middle site of the CCCRP (public campground). The third entrance on the right will be the lower site of the CCCRP (2 day trip campground).

Directions for the Thursday trip: You will be driving to our home. When you have reached the town of Rumsey, look for Road 41 – coming from the south – turn right – coming from the north – turn left – drive across the Rumsey Bridge – turn left into the first driveway on the left (3038 Road 41) come down the driveway – someone will show you where to park. Remember to be at our home by 10:00 am.
