You are welcome to arrive on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. Friday check in will begin at 6:00PM. You may arrive early and set up your camp. New this year for guests arriving on Friday night we will be offering the Early Bird Meal Package, which includes Friday night dinner and Saturday morning breakfast ($25.00 per person). If you prefer to bring your own dinner, the grill will be lit at 7:00PM for your cooking convenience. If you arrive on Saturday morning please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your orientation time. Please note that you are to go to the Yolo County Lower Site Camp Ground not to Cache Canyon River Trips physical address in Rumsey.
On Saturday Morning you will get an orientation which will cover basic raft handling and safety instructions. You will then fill out your release form. Be ready to hand your release form to the bus driver as you board the bus. After you are fitted with your life jacket you will board the bus to our put-in location where your rafting adventure begins. Remember to leave your car keys with us.
Lunch will be served camp side at the Lower Site Camp Ground. Our staff will be at the creek to help you in and out of your raft. After lunch you will enjoy the rest of your trip as you guide your raft down Cache Creek to the Rumsey Ranch pullout. Our beach staff will be creek side to help you out of your rafts. Once on land, you may enjoy cold lemonade and a snack while you wait for the bus to take you back to camp.
Back at camp you may do some exploring, play horseshoes or just relax and listen to the sounds of nature until dinner. When the sun goes down you will be treated to a slide show of your rafting experience, a starlit evening of campfire (weather permitting) and entertainment.
On Sunday Morning you will awake to the smell of camp coffee while the camp staff prepares your breakfast. After breakfast two shuttles will leave to the put-in site where you may begin your second day of rafting.
Lunch will again be served at the Lower Site Camp Ground. Our staff will be at the creek to help you in and out of your raft. After lunch you may enjoy the rest of your rafting trip to the Rumsey Ranch pullout. Our beach staff will be creek side to help you out of your rafts. Enjoy a cold beverage and a snack at the Cottonwood Bar while you wait for the bus to take you back to camp.
Back at camp you are free to stay as long as you like. Take your time packing up. When it’s all over tell all of your friends what a great time you had. And plan to visit us again!

Camp Sites
Campsites are available on a first come first served basis. Please remember to keep all motor vehicles on the pavement. Our contract with the county specifies that no vehicles (except those authorized) are allowed off of the pavement. This applies to motor homes, 5th wheels, and camp trailers. If it has wheels, it must stay on the pavement.
Please remember that the beach site is not a campsite. Many of our rafters enjoy visiting the creek at the beach site at the south end of the parking lot, so please respect one another so that all may enjoy this special spot.
Meals
Our two-day guests will enjoy the first of their four meals For Saturday lunch, our camp chef will serve all beef Polish dogs right off the grill, cold watermelon, chips condiments, ice tea and lemonade.
When you arrive back to camp our chefs will already be busy preparing your Saturday night dinner. You will dine on a choice cut rib eye steak, grilled to perfection, fresh sautéed mushrooms, fresh corn on the cob, fresh Caesar salad, our to-die-for home made garlic bread, and lemonade. Cookies will be served camp side for desert.
On Sunday morning you will awake to the smell of real camp coffee (we also have water for hot chocolate or tea). The breakfast menu includes a variety of fresh bagels & cream cheese, muffins, Danish, fresh fruit, and orange juice. This should keep you full and happy until lunch.
Sunday’s lunch menu will be hamburgers or veggie burgers, red potato salad, cold watermelon, and lemonade.
Please note: Vegetarian alternatives are available. Please let us know when you book your trip that you are a vegetarian; you won’t go hungry!
What To bring
For camping:
Bring whatever your comfortable sleeping in. Tents, cots, sleeping bags, ground cloths and the like are all acceptable. We also have limited accommodations for motor homes, 5th wheels, and tent trailers. These are available on a first come first serve basis. Please let us know.
Remember to bring a flash light, a few changes of clothing, include a warm sweatshirt, an extra pair of shoes, swimwear, toiletries (we have two public bathrooms and several outhouses). There are no shower facilities. We have a limited supply of water for hand washing, so please remember to bring a refillable bottle for drinking water. For campers arriving on Friday night you will need to bring cookware, etc.
For rafting:
Bring a rafting partner - no one can raft alone! Although you will enjoy all of your meals at camp, it is also suggested that you bring a small soft ice chest that zips shut with a carabiner clip to keep your belongings in the raft (no glass bottles, please). Don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, a disposable waterproof camera, water toys, and secure footwear. Tennis shoes, water shoes, or any tight fitting shoes or secure fitting sandals such as Tevas are acceptable for rafting. You must have the proper footwear to raft (no flip-flops or bare feet).
What To Leave at Home
River rafting requires a certain level of agility, so please leave your pets at home and bring children only over the age of 12.
Please do not bring any glass bottles.
Please bring only personal sound systems to camp, such as iPods with earphones.
Some folks prefer to enjoy the serene sounds of the natural environment and the river.
